Dubbed the ‘Te Papa of Picton’, The Stevenson Collection is a private art gallery housing over 400 artworks by prominent and emerging New Zealand and Australian artists.

The eclectic collection features works by Bill Hammond, Colin McCahon, Toss Woollaston, Andre Hemer, Michael Smither, Yvonne Todd & Wayne Youle among dozens of others.

With artworks rivalling the quality of many of New Zealand and Australia’s leading public galleries, The Stevenson Collection is an unexpected find in the heart of the Marlborough Sounds and well worth a visit.

The collection is available to be enjoyed by the public during our opening times and collector Mark offers informal, fun and humorous tours, by appointment.



Sunday 1:30 pm
And by appointment most days between 10:30 am and 3:30 pm.

The private collection located in an old hardware store on Picton's main street is open to the public on Sunday's at 1:30 pm for free informal 60 minute tours lead by the collector Mark.
